The Hillside Sunshine Committee is part of the PTO. In the event of a new baby, death in the family, illness or injury we provide the service of sending encouraging cards and/or providing meals (if needed) for the families of Hillside students and staff. We do try our best to reach everyone who needs some sunshine and apologize in advance if you or someone you know was overlooked. We respect privacy and details are not needed or shared. For additional information please contact Larisa Leon.
Each year at this time, Hillside families have contributed to the local food bank, through Great Valley Food Cupboard, a community outreach program for families in need. Last year, over 10 boxes were collected at HES and were distributed in time for Thanksgiving.
Please send a can, box or package (or a few) of non-perishable food to school with your child, anytime from until Tuesday, 11/17 to help with this outreach initiative. The Great Valley Food Cupboard will pick up the food on 11/18.
Need ideas on what to give? Great Valley Food Cupboard always needs staples like peanut butter, jelly and canned vegetables. This year they are especially in need of peanut butter, jelly, cereal, and canned fruit.
Thank you for your participation!
With input from faculty and staff, The Cultural Arts Committee schedules and facilitates programs that supplement and enrich Hillside’s curriculum. A full schedule of live performances and interactive workshops enhance the students’ knowledge of music, the fine arts, literature, history, science, and performance. All interested parents and caregivers are always welcome to attend Cultural Arts programs.
